What is PaganSpace?
top
PaganSpace is a website dedicated to helping support and unite organizations dedicated to maintaining or creating dedicated space for Pagan Social, Religious, or Political issues.
At the moment, our focus is on networking, self promotion, and compiling the knowledge and perspectives we can collect into a central location.
We are looking into ways we can assist further.

Who are you?
top
We are Cather and Sunny Steincamp of Richmond, VA.
Are you involved in any Pagan Community Centers or Initiatives?
top
No.
Cather has been networking with the people involved in these project for three years, and has met several of them personally. Many of them communicated the need for a central networking resource-- quite frankly, the process of creating and maintaining a website like this is a time-consuming job, and anyone involved in a project like these has enough time-consuming jobs.
Since Cather's work schedule prohibits much in the way of Pagan Networking, and he and Sunny have the time to spare, and decided to support this cause in the best way they could.
Are you affiliated with, or connected to, the organization named "Pagan Space UK & International" or "The Pagan Space Community Project"?
top
No. That organization did not have an online presence when PaganSpace.org was launched, and we were unaware of their existence until November of 2003.
Do you speak for the organizations listed in the PaganSpace Directory?
top
No.
We provide a place for these organizations to speak, and a mechanism by which they can contact each other. We have no authority to speak for these groups.
Is PaganSpace a governing council or certification board?
top
No, and no.
PaganSpace is nothing more than a website. We do not desire to have any control over these organizations, nor would we have the authority to begin with.
A listing in the PaganSpace directory means nothing more than "We found them" or "they found us." If a qualified organization is not listed in the PaganSpace Directory, it means we haven't connected, they didn't want to enter a profile, or they have not yet posted their profile (at the time of this writing there are at least four organizations who have access to the directory but have not done so).
What do you hope to accomplish?
top
We hope to help these people get their work done, by helping them learn from each other, through the website and through direct communication.
We hope to raise awareness of their events, as well help them learn what one another is doing.
We also hope raise awareness of their existence and their mission. We think if people find out about what's been done and what's being done, they'll want it for themselves. And if they want it, they can build it.
Can you help me start a Pagan Community Center Initiative?
top
We can help you in the way that we help all the organizations on this list-- by helping you connect with others who are doing this work, and providing a place to help people find you.
All of our advice is contained in the nature of this website: Network, Promote, Learn.
Do you accept donations?
top
We certainly appreciate the thought, but no. If you are seeking to help support the concept of PaganSpace by throwing money at it... you're sorely needed, but not by us.
Our only cash expense is webhosting, but we also host our personal websites on the same account. PaganSpace doesn't cost anything extra.
Is there anything I can do to help PaganSpace?
top
Yes. Get the word out. Tell your Pagan friends about PaganSpace.
Also, if you know of any organizations that aren't listed in the PaganSpace Directory, let us know at directory@paganspace.org.
